Why do I have to fill in the membership form every year?

The club requires this to be done every year for a number of reasons:

1. In case your details have changed such as Email, phone or address.
2. It confirms you have read the rules and agree to abide by them. This covers any rule updates since the last time you completed the form.

3. We need minimum contact details for new members.

Membership Form to Download We have found it necessary to simplify and update our membership application process. To ensure the club complies with GDPR it is important that the personal information we hold is correct and is relevant to process your membership. By signing the form you are agreeing to the club holding your personal information and to abide by club rules. Your membership will not be accepted without a completed HARD COPY of the form sent along with payment. Please note that Email submissions will not be accepted.
Please find the link below for the updated membership form. Please ignore all previous types of form online or previous hardcopies.
If you are unable to print the form yourself, copies will be available from committee members at the field upon request.

Return a hard copy to Jim Nightingale in person at our flying site, Or his home address or post.

Important notice about CAA fees for 2024 & beyond The Committee has decided to no longer collect CAA fees from members. The reason for this is the way the CAA administers their system which adds an administrative overhead onto both the Membership Sec and the Treasurer. You must still renew your CAA, but now we are asking you to do this on your own.

Part of a Year Fees & Dates Applicable Will be updated with 2025 pricing when BMFA release the part year pricing

The BMFA charges for membership based on the time of the year that someone applies to join and this can be found on the BMFA website in the Join the BMFA section. Bretons also charges for part year membership should you join part way through a year and is aligned with the same dates the BMFA has chosen as below:

Renewals for existing members will always be the full year from 1st Jan to 31st Dec.

In certain circumstances BMFA fees may not apply to an individual that pays these fees some other way. e.g. Also member of another club or pay BMFA directly for membership.

New members are required to download and complete the Membership Application form then send to the Membership Secretary whose address details are on the form.
