Bretons Model Flying Club is a long-established club, and we celebrated our 40th Anniversary in 2017 having been established since 1977.

Our flying site is in Rainham, Essex and is easily accessible from both Essex and East London. Indoor flying is available at our club meetings which are held during the autumn through to spring in a local school hall in Harold Wood, Romford.

For beginners we have several club instructors who will be able to get you to solo flying free of charge. Some good places to start your research into model flying are the BMFA Getting Started in RC page, the Quick Start Guide and the CAA Article 16 Authorisation.

Flying is allowed 365 days a year with few limitations. Please see the flying times page. Unfortunately turbines are not permitted and we have a weight limit of 7.5kg including fuel.

The focus of the club is everything model aviation related. Disciplines such as helicopters and drones are accommodated, and the club is actively encouraging these alternative disciplines within the club. Note that we do not have any instructors to teach helicopter & drone flying. Please see Bretons Club Notice 1 and the latest 2021 rule book for more details.

There is often someone flying at our site, weather permitting, so please feel free to visit if you wish to consider joining our club.
Should you require more information then please contact us or visit our Facebook page.
